    1. A fav of mine too - obviously! Thanks, Blanche.
Are you working on another landscape or still life?

  2. Dear Julie glad to read that you couldn't resist eating your fruit. :)! Your colors are gorgeous and love the bit of orange reflection you placed on the bowl. So lovely. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am going to the grocery tomorrow and find some tangerines. Yours made me hungry too!

  3. Beautiful fruit and good for you too:) I really like the assortment of greenery and peelings/pieces at the bottom. Seems to fill the space nicely and provide a great level of activity. Not a "still" still life!:)

    1. Hi Libby - - yes a smile indeed. ..good choice of words. I had a show once called, The Not So Still Still Life! All had active eye movement.
Wondering what you are up to and looking forward to your next piece.

    2. Just read your new post and it was neat seeing your new piece - Observations. You call it a sketch, but it appears very complete to me with great repeats of a circle theme.

    3. True, true. I guess I just called it a sketch since I didn't think of it as a finished piece. Maybe I need to rethink that view though:)

    1. Hi Helen. They have a wonderful flavor don't they?
Thanks for the complement on the color and I felt the same way about your barn. The color of the light hitting the roof was spot on. it is magic when that happens isn't it?

  6. Finally back, thanks for your visit to my boat! Love your blue bowls and jugs as much as your red ones. Another great painting.

I found your notebook on the previous thread really personal - these notes move from being mere 'notes' to beloved mementos as time goes on. But you're far too young to fully understand.

    1. Soooo good to see you back, John. All your company gone and you are back on track to finish the boat. I loved reading your new post and feel quite informed on the process.
Not too young at all to understand...But thanks for the sweetness of that comment.

  7. Love the colors, the textures and okay, everything about this painting. Still practicing the fracturing technique. It is soooooo difficult. But love the broken strokes, looking forward to your next video. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

    1. Hello Joan, I do appreciate your support for the fracturing technique. You are so generous with your praise. I have made several videos but something always happens. The best one had the battery run out before the end. Oh the joys!!
Saw you latest post and I love Charlie - he is the first cow you have done? Such a great job. Love your colors and brushwork.

  12. Hi Hilda - I was pleased the bowl turned out well so thank you for noticing it.
I am sure you would do a fabulous job of a still life. You draw and see volume so well. Do they not interest you?

  13. Brilliant and vibrant still life, and as somebody pointed out, the work on the bowl is amazing. Also I like the 'stern' background that casts the lively colors of the fruit against us.

    1. LOVE the word 'stern" for the background. i know exactly what you mean, Jane. I mixed the orange with the blue to gray it down enough not to compete. it took about five mixes before i got the range I wanted.
Your beautiful floral has gorgeous lavender hues from cool to warm and it always grabs my heart when I see that done so well.

    1. I think your Plum Line was a clever title for your perfectly painted plums.
Realism comes alive under your magic brush.
Thanks for the visit. I am happy you are back painting more regularly.

  15. better that it's happening with oranges than with donuts :) You saved enough orange for stunning complementary colors! Love it

  16. LOL - GOOD ONE MARY. Donuts would surely be gone too quickly - although I have learned to have some control over the sweet stuff.
Your new painting is GORGEOUS! Different from what you have been doing but I really, really like it.

  18. I think my favorite part is that bowl. First, because I love blue and white bowls, and second because you've captured that 'feel' -- the texture and sheen of the porcelain so very well. Another lovely, lovely painting!!

  19. Lovely, Julie! I can see where you would be tempted! I love the orange and green reflected light in the porcelain bowl, and that single leaf on the left is the perfect piece de resistance!
