Sunrise Over The River



Sunrise Over The River
6x8" oil on canvas panel $150. SOLD

Artist Note
This was painted from a 
watercolor sketch.
which was very loosey-goosey
because it was such a fast rise. 
I tried to take my mind back to 
the actual time but it has been a few years.

Oh well...I enjoyed painting it
and that is the important thing...right?

    lovely as is all your work posted! I was wondering if your fracturing technique works with acrylic paint.

      Hi Cindy -I did answer this on my iPad but here at the computer I see it did not register. rats!
      You certainly can use acrylics very easily using Slow-Dry. It can be even richer because of all the layering.

      I have tried to purchase your fracturing tutorial but paypal will not add my debit card to make the purchase. I don't understand why, when I have used it multiple times to make online purchases :(

    I love the light from that beautiful sky hitting the river!!! SO beautifully painted, Julie!! Of course the texture gets me all the time.... Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!

    Yes! Too right that enjoyment is the icing on the cake. The colors in this are Lovely and evocative. You obviously remember the essence of the moment.

      Hi, Helene, happy you totally understand. Thanks for the B-day wishes. My friend had her birthday and my birthday is after Thanksgiving and every seven years it falls on Thanksgiving Day.
      I was not raised with having a Thanksgiving - the pilgrims left from my jolly old -so the closest I can come to it was Harvest Festival. We took food to the poor.

    The sky is an amazing part of each of our worlds, isn't it and the more "we look up" the more we are amazed at the power and beauty of it.

    The light reflected in the river immediately jumps to the eyes , and the sky is amazing. Even I would rise early to see a sight like this LOL .
