Sunrise Over The River
6x8" oil on canvas panel $150. SOLD
Artist Note
This was painted from a
watercolor sketch.
which was very loosey-goosey
because it was such a fast rise.
I tried to take my mind back to
the actual time but it has been a few years.
Oh well...I enjoyed painting it
and that is the important thing...right?
lovely as is all your work posted! I was wondering if your fracturing technique works with acrylic paint.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy -I did answer this on my iPad but here at the computer I see it did not register. rats!
DeleteYou certainly can use acrylics very easily using Slow-Dry. It can be even richer because of all the layering.
Good luck and enjoy it!
I have tried to purchase your fracturing tutorial but paypal will not add my debit card to make the purchase. I don't understand why, when I have used it multiple times to make online purchases :(
DeleteCindy dear, I forwarded your message to Daily Paintworks to see if they could help. I am afraid I have nothing to do with it. They are VERY good at helping so hope to hear soon. Let me have your email please so I can get in touch.
Deletethanks for looking into this Julie. I tried again this morning to see if it would accept my card but it would not. my email is crytessier@hotmail.com
DeleteI love the light from that beautiful sky hitting the river!!! SO beautifully painted, Julie!! Of course the texture gets me all the time.... Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Hilda. Always encouraging me with lovely comments. You are a blessing
DeleteYes! Too right that enjoyment is the icing on the cake. The colors in this are Lovely and evocative. You obviously remember the essence of the moment.
ReplyDeleteP.S. On your last post I forgot to extend birthday wishes, so I do so belatedly🍾
Hi, Helene, happy you totally understand. Thanks for the B-day wishes. My friend had her birthday and my birthday is after Thanksgiving and every seven years it falls on Thanksgiving Day.
DeleteI was not raised with having a Thanksgiving - the pilgrims left from my jolly old -so the closest I can come to it was Harvest Festival. We took food to the poor.
Thanks for the great comment.
Julie - this is beautiful. The sky is drop dead gorgeous. Love it friend. Hope you have a great day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear, Debbie. The sky is where we continually "Look Up" We sure know how incredible it is.
DeleteI enjoyed your beautiful post.
so alive looking :)
ReplyDeletelove the colours and lighting :)
Thanks Jennifer. I was expecting a neat Turkey for us Americans by your talented hands.
Deletei should have drawn a turkey but since thanksgiving isn't a thing here I never remember to lol
DeleteThe sky is an amazing part of each of our worlds, isn't it and the more "we look up" the more we are amazed at the power and beauty of it.
ReplyDeleteHappy you are on the mend and that is a FABULOUS POST YOU HAVE THIS WEEK.
The light reflected in the river immediately jumps to the eyes , and the sky is amazing. Even I would rise early to see a sight like this LOL .
ReplyDeleteHi Jane thanks for letting me know you like it. I laughed with total understanding at your comment.
DeleteI forgot to remark on your terrific Moroccan Woman. Very compelling portrait.
DeleteBeautiful!!! I love the little touch of color on the right at the turn in the river. It is perfect!! Wonderful colors!
ReplyDeleteHi Joan, how sweet...you really looked! Yes, the color of the light filled everywhere it hit.
DeleteYou are so nice showing what great art supplies were given out at your event. Loved your painting of the couple.
Julie, I have been very concerned about Joan Sicignano and am writing you because I see you also blog with her. I have her email and have tried reaching her through her blog and email.
ReplyDeleteDo you happen to know or hear if she is ill?
Her last post was in late August. IT'S just not like her to not post for this long. If you do know anything please let me know.
