The pansies are back
and I have planted them in pots
on our balcony.
Such a happy flower.
They make me happy
thru the wintertime.
Anyone else like them?
I DO like pansies! For some reason they always seem like a happy flower, if that makes sense. They're hardy, too. Yours look so pretty in that blue vase, and the textures in this painting give it a three-dimensional quality.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol, neat to know you like them and we agree on them being a happy flower. That blue vase has been well used for a lot of years.
DeleteEnjoy your week.
Very beautiful flowers and so wonderful painting !!!
ReplyDeletethank you Stelios. You really have beautiful paintings on your blog.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful Julie! I love this and the background is amazing. Pansies are wonderful flowers that do so well with the cooler temperatures in New York... Again, LOVE this piece!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, my friend. Happy you like it. WE definitely get cooler temps here and the pansies do really well
DeleteI agree with Carol that they are a happy flower, a little bit impish with that almost-face in the middle. And they come in so many colors! Your painting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTalking about faces... love the series of them you are doing.
DeleteHappy you like the painting.
Such a lovely painting of pansies; the colors are perfectly-selected. You paint flowers so beautifully, Julie.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do think pansies are a delight, but my garden is full to overflowing so I've not had space for them in recent years. In winter, however, I always bring in some of my geraniums and place then in pots on my studio windowsill. They bloom madly all winter and look beautiful from outside as well; a touch of spring peeping over a snow-covered garden. Often, they return outside the following summer. Such obliging little plants!
(P.S. I am painting, thanks for asking, but they are gifts so not being posted yet.)
I agree, Helene, geraniums are wonderful during the winter. I totally understand. Where I live they have moved a lot of geraniums by a south window in the swimming pool area. it glows!
DeleteOh yes! They make me smile! lovely to look at this painting!
ReplyDeleteHi Padmaja, thanks for the sweet words.
DeleteHope you are still in the SUN.
I miss your paintings.
Just love your handling of brushes and mix of colors! Wow!👋
ReplyDeleteThats a lovely complement. Thanks Helen.
DeleteCongratulations on finishing the 30 in 30 challenge.
Awesome job!
Pansies were my grandma's favorite. They have sweet faces. Your painting is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHow neat to know that your grandmother loved them. Good to have flowers we associate with loved ones.
DeleteThanks for the nice comment, Debra.
I love your happy and colorful pansies , a flower that is so uplifting during the grey winter days .
ReplyDeleteUplifting is the right word, Jane. Even though we do not have many gray days where I live.
DeleteI really am enjoying your abstract work. It seems to flow effortlessly from you.
the colours are gorgeous :D
ReplyDeletei'd be sneezing all the time though if they were in the house :p
Poor Jennifer, you are allergic to pansies? I didn't think of them having pollen but of course they do. They do not survive too long inside. Mine were droopy in no time.
ReplyDeleteim allergic to most flowers :( and trees lol
DeleteOh I love pansies...they are certainly a favorite of mine...where we live though they are early bloomers in the spring. Your painting certainly shows how much you love them. It is beautiful friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love the pansies too Julie, and especially like this painting. So balanced with great color harmony. No wonder someone snapped it up!
