Tulip Pleasure
8x6in oil on canvas panel $150.SOLD
Artist Note.
I love to paint the flowers that are in season
and at the moment that
means Daffodils and Tulips.
I bought these tulips into the
studio for a fellow guild member
who loves tulips.
She has taught me
a lot of neat things about them
like...
they move all the time...
and they can grow extra petals!

Really it is great pleasure to see your very wonderful flower paintings !!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stelios - love your beautiful painting of the harbor.
DeleteJulie these are extraordinary. I enlarged it on my screen...I love how you caught the movement and the deep wine colored tulips are such a beautiful compliment to the warm yellow. So gorgeous. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely complement. Thank you, dear friend.
DeleteI am delighted to see your beautiful flowers and know you are painting more regularly....until you start your garden!
As always, beautiful! How can one ever fail by painting flowers?
ReplyDeleteLOL...Quite easily I can fail. I think there were five scrape offs for this painting.
DeleteFascinating stuff about the Muskrats, David.
What an amazing bouquet of bright, just-opening, and joyful tulips! Could anything else say, "Spring is here" more clearly than this? Beautifully painted, Julie. I am fascinated with the leaves both in shape and range of color. Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. They sure do say spring to me...as do daffodils, forsythia and snowdrops!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous portrait you did of your grandson, Carol. I hope you do more.
Julie, this is an absolute 'masterpiece'. Beautiful .
ReplyDeleteHi Barbra Joan. I tried to leave a comment on your post with the pic of you but no place to comment. LOL.
DeleteThanks for your lovely complement!
Beautiful!!! I love how some of them seem to be bowing down. Excellent background too.
ReplyDeleteOh Joan I love your new painting of the grasses and water. Could be right up the road from me.
DeleteAwesome painting , made me smile because I am painting yellow tulips too at the moment :-) This one is a real stunner !
ReplyDeleteAh...great minds think alike. Looking forward to seeing yours.
DeleteExtra petals? Who knew? As usual, I always learn from your blog -- and your blog-pals.
ReplyDeleteI love this painting. The golden yellows and deep purples are luscious together, and you've captured the tulip-attitude to perfection. It's a complete delight.
(Since you are always kind enough to ask...yes, I am painting. Mostly larger pieces these days, so they take a while. (And there are the darn tax returns to be tackled as well -- aargh!) Best to you, lovely lady!
Hi Helene, I am so happy you are at the easel in-between the daily life chores. One of the things which gets me down is when I see talent not being used. I know if there is talent then that means it is a pleasure for them. We all deserve that wonderful feeling of absorption..whatever the gift.
DeleteIt looks like Spring has Sprung!!! Gorgeous bouquet Julie!! You certainly have mastered flowers...we're still stuck in Winter...no flowers yet but soon, I hope!!
ReplyDeleteHi Hilda - happy to hear from you. Your winter has been a dandy but even here we have had unusual patterns of cold and wind. The flowers were all out and alaong come 60 mph gusts of wind.
DeleteLeaving for a week in Hawaii tomorrow. These beautiful Tulips are a nice send off! More post when I return. Aloha.
ReplyDeleteI am so HAPPY for you, Blanche! Especially after all you have gone through. Have a FABULOUS time in the warmth and beauty.
DeleteGreat work, composition very balanced and well resolved.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
Greetings.
Thank you so much Jose. I enjoyed visiting your posts and seeing your lovely work.
ReplyDeletelovely yellows with a touch of purple :)
ReplyDeletestarting to get tulips and daffodils coming up here and spring weather, just really windy
I agree with Joan - they seem to be bowing; bowing to the artist who brilliantly memorialized them with her magic touch. I even think one of the flowers is growing an extra petal - just for you :)
