Door in Mexico - Guadalajara

Mexico Door - Guadalajara

6x6in oil in canvas board  $100.

A few years ago I did a series on doors in Guadalajara, Mexico.
I fell in love with the bright colors they had absolutely no
problem using.
I had visited Portugal and Spain before I came to America and
really loved the bright colors of their buildings.
Imagine my pleasure in
discovering the similar use of color in Mexico.

There is a huge American and Canadian community of ex-pats
near Guadalajara in a town called Tlaquepaque.
It is a very beautiful historical town nestled around a huge lake.
You can find a re-creation of the buildings and landscaping
 in Sedona, AZ.
They did a wonderful job of duplicating the tile work.
I see many an artist painting there when I visit.
