Patio Comfort, New Mexico Style
Patio Comfort, New Mexico Style
6x6in oil on canvas panel $100.
It is that time of year when eating out on the patio is perfect.
Too dry for mosquitoes and no flies... yet.
Artist Note.
I am giving a workshop at the moment - lots of fun with a great group
of talented artists. I love teaching so it is a pure pleasure for me and I get
all pumped up...but not enough to go home and do a daily painting!
Knowing I would be busy I painted this a couple of weeks ago.
It is very typical of this area with the Mexican leather chairs,
turquoise paint and pots of plants for a bit of additional color.

I recognize that door! A very inviting painting. The soft shadow on the wall lead my eyes around nicely and it has lovely colors and contrasts. Well done.
ReplyDeleteA very inviting scenario, with the glasses of wine and warm light. Beautiful colors and composition!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful blend of colors and definitely a piece of perfection that makes me long to enjoy this lovely patio. Too dry for mosquitoes? How I'd love that!!
ReplyDeleteyes, but the no-see-ums, little bugs, bit like heck instead.

ReplyDeleteYes....I'd love to be sitting on that patio--very inviting! beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteLove your blue doors..so colorful!! The two glasses of wine completes this beautiful painting, Julie!
ReplyDeleteHumans are not allowed to sit outside where I live in East Rockaway because the gnats rule the neighborhood with huge alligator teeth that wins all the time...this is why we have a screened in porch!! (however, they're so tiny that they go through it!! LOL)
I'd like to sit right down in those chairs next to that turquoise door. Looks very inviting:)
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, Where are you teaching right now? Love this painting. These images are one of the reasons I love living here. The throw you painted on the chair is lovely. Very nice composition. The shadows are wonderful. Wish I was right there sipping a nice margarita!
ReplyDeleteI love the draped quilt on the chair as a final touch, Julie. I think I'd spend a lot of time in this place if it were mine.
