Farmers Market #25

Farmers Market #25
8"x8" oil on Raymar panel SOLD

Artist Note

I thought a spot of sunshine for my
blog followers in the brutally
cold areas
would be a reminder of what
lies ahead for you all!
Sending warmest thoughts
your way.
Keep safe!

I enjoyed painting this and kept adding
to the composition...putting in and taking out.
taking me time and having a good time.

It is from sketches and photos
I have done here at the
Farmers Market in Las Cruces -
but I took out the buildings along
Main Street.
Could be in France!

I enjoyed the most marvelous
time before and after Christmas,
even though we all had to clear out
of the house
for viewings a couple of times.

The kids took it well and piled
all their "stuff" back into cars
  because the closets had to
be kept neat!

No sibling fights,
lots of laughter and reminiscing
about good times in the house.
Perfect.
Now the perfect buyer is welcome
at any time.

  1. I love your market scenes; a long way from the Trafford Centre in Manchester currently in the grips of winter.

It took ages to sell our last house to make move 24 to West Wales ... the grandchildren hated to see the last one go.

We returned from Australia just in time for Christmas, and my daughter's wedding on the 28th to Carl (an American) ...busy ...busy.

Looking forward to following your blog in 2018

    1. You brought back memories with Trafford Center. My favorite places were the Picadilly Gardens and Trafford Center.
I have enjoyed having the house on the market in the respect that it is all cleaned up all the time. Getting old for dear hubby though. He is, to put it nicely...the relaxed one in the house. I feel it will be sold soon though. My "feelings" are usually right.
Hope good health stays with you this year, John. I want to see that boat launched and paintings flowing once more. No more buggering off all over the place!

  2. I love it, Julie......so glad you all had a wonderful holiday together. Nice to hear you are having prospective buyers come to visit, too. So bitterly cold here in Maine. This morning we had frozen pipes but have it all sorted out now and the temp under the house is holding around 40F even though it's -20 outside. We are keeping the heat up on 76 during the rest of this cold spell just because it makes me toasty. Have a great weekend.

O loved the photos of the birds. You have a great eye with that camera, my friend.
      Loving my weekend. Thanks.

  3. Not particularly cold where I am in Oregon, but this one brought a smile to my face nonetheless. You are a kind and thoughtful soul Julie, and that's appreciated as much as your prodigious talent.

    1. Hi Lauren, thank you for such a lovely comment. You are so kind yourself... especially with the animal world.
I enjoyed seeing your paintings with the Neon Sign. Great eye tracking, starting there and the cabinet angle leading us along and down to the people. Also thank you for the recommendation on the teaching videos you provided the link to.
Its going to be a great year.

    1. Thank YOU, dear Chris. I noticed my comments on the last two amazing posts are not there. I did them from my phone due to no computer but the should have gone thru. I will try from here.

  5. As a farmers marketer, I love this. Except for the dog. We;ve had several dogs hike their leg on crates of produce and then of course it all has to bee thrown out. But you nailed everything about the scene. My husband ordered his seed this past week. As we shiver here in Kentucky, it's good to think of warmer days ahead. Hopefully your perfect buyer will be at your door any day now.

    1. Hi Sharon - LOL about the dog. I have never seen them do that here but they are on the leash and hopefully the owners are watchful.
I think your idea of FAMOUS ARTIST FRIDAY is fabulous and I really enjoyed reading about the fabulous Mr Van Gogh. You have a wonderful way with words.

  6. Just knewI'd find my ray of sunshine at "your place" Julie. I'm sitting here with a brace mid thigh to mid calf and crutches after spraining my knee Friday. Lots of time in the next 3-6 wks to read, paint, sketch and knit. Otherwise, it's been a happy New Year.

    1. Oh noooo, poor you. A sprain is more painful than a break.
BUT, if it means than I get to see more paintings...yahoo!
Seriously, I sent warmest wishes for a complete recovery, my friend and thank you for this lovely comment.

  8. Thanks, Jennifer. Gray/grey days show true colors. Happy I live in the land of sunshine though. Manchester was a bit too gray for too long at a time! Love your sketches of the birds and looking forward to seeing how you vector them.
