This was inspired by the same photo 

as shown on previous post, 

but approached 

in an entirely different way.

First...

I zoomed in on a smaller area of the photo

and let my imagination create the shapes

plus a different color harmony.

Play and Discovery

This was a lot of fun.

It became all about the process

because I was not worried about 

making it exactly like the photo.. 

I made notes of what I liked,

 technique wise,

and equally important...

did not like. 

I will repeat in another painting 

the parts of what I liked and maybe

it will be as enjoyable as this 

one was to paint..

Artist Note.
A friend gave me some figs
and I do not think
 I have painted them before.
Surely I would remember
their funky shape.
and coloration.
Yes,...and the striped cloth
is still holding my interest.

It is monsoon season
and the clouds are quite amazing.
It is my favorite season because
the skies are so amazing.
It is possible to see multiple storms
at one time due to the vastness
of the horizon.

We need the rain and we are getting it.
The purple sage is blooming
and the desert smells so fresh.

Pike Place Market - Flower Ladies

The flowers at the market have
competition because of the beauty
of many of the young ladies
who work there.

Artist Note
I have also been painting with watercolor
this weekend, trying to work out
a good format to convey the
power and beauty of all the shapes
and colors. Not easy...
kept me totally absorbed though.
It did end up with me tearing a
sheet in half as the only way to
stop me from overworking it.
Poor hubby gasped, and I thought
he was reacting to my act but no...
it was a missed golf shot
during the British Open!

Petunia Profusion

I painted this during class time today and it meant lots of
interrupted time. The artists needs come first so I was a happy
camper attending to both and the day flew by.

Artist Note.

The petunias I have been drawing, failed to rally so I picked
 fresh ones and included some with vibrant color.
I wanted to get my trusty mechanical pencil in the set-up.
I tried to show a bit of a  drawing too, but it was impossible with
the fracturing technique.

Tomorrow I am resuming making the video on the fracturing for the
DPW Artbyte. I have found the process rather difficult.
When I concentrate, I apparently forget to say what I am doing.
Duh!
If I make a video I do want it to be a good and helpful one...
 No pressure there - right?

Sharing voices I hear in my head!
