Shutter and Flowers

Shutter and Flowers

8x6in oil on canvas panel  $125.

How colorful can I get? I see the colors this bright
and I paint them. This was fun after working hard
on paintings for my May exhibit.

  1. Dear Julie,I love your gorgeous artworks so vibrant!!! I'm late on blogs and comments to friends of other blogs like yours, dear Julie.
Beatrice miss the rest of the family ... So she needs a lot of Playtime!
Play with the grandparents is calming and she does not think where Mom and Dad and Alice.
It 's the first time that she feels so much the lack ... now feels very sense of time. But last night before going to sleep, including a hard question (where is mom and dad ...), to hear her laugh and cry MUSIC Music Music has left me speechless!
Few days as nanny 24/24 it is difficult for my back now a bit 'aged, but it is also a true joy "transfusion" to live!

I understand a grandmother feeling tired but happy.

  4. So gorgeous Julie. What caught my eye this time is the line of sunlight in the upper left and the light on the tips of the yellow flowers. I would love to be able to make the front of my house look as inviting as this. It says "come in, there's tea and friendship in here".

  5. I assume you're very busy with painting for your upcoming exhibition. I love the color and light in this one. I also like the contrast of the house elements and the lively flower bed.
    Good luck and Happy Painting.

  8. julie, this is beautiful, as always... that turquoise really sends me - both the part in the sun and the part in the shade. and of course i'm impressed with the fact that there *is* a shadow and you've done it so beautifully!

i was painting with oils a few nights ago and thought about you throughout. i was probably thinking so hard that i forgot that oils stay wet for a long time and i smeared the tail of the bird i was painting right off!! one thing is for sure, it made me appreciate what you do more than ever.

    xoxo

    1. Hi Lynne, I am flattered. Thanks for thinking of me... and the smearing is the best part of oils because you can paint it right back on.

  12. Lovely, Julie. One of the things I love about New Mexico paintings is the palettes that can be used so freely. And you do it so well. The turquoise sets off the stucco wall with the burst of sunshine, the scatter of blossoms just delightfully. There are so many paintings in this vein. I have some myself. But yours are the BEST! You are very inspiring, my dear lady. Keep up the good work!
