Late Afternoon Rays
8x6in oil on canvas panel $125.
Late afternoon on the Rio Grande just outside
Las Cruces. NM.
There is a place where a ray of sunlight cuts through
a gap in the Robledo hills and casts a beautiful ray of
sunlight on the river.
These hills lead to the
Prehistoric Trackways National Monument.
If you are interested in paleontology you may find

Just beautiful, so juicy and painterly.

ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning landscape, Julie! Somehow I hadn't realized the Rio Grande went beyond the Texas-Mexico border. Love all the texture you have in your ground too.
ReplyDeleteI could fall into the water in the foreground left side, Julie. Excellent piece!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful painting, Julie. And I love it that you mentioned the dinosaur trackways. Jerry MacDonald is a friend of ours and he has told us about carrying some of those huge slabs out on his back (avoiding the resident rattlesnakes) so the rocks could be enjoyed at the museums.
ReplyDeleteSoooo great in the way the warm light and cool blue compliment each other.
ReplyDeleteAh Julie I love those blues and you certainly captured the light on the water. So beautiful. Makes me want to see New Mexico someday. Take care and have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteWonderful colors in the reflections!
