A Special Visit

Meeting a Fellow Blogger.
Anne Winthrop Cordin

Anne and Cooper

I was delighted to get a message
from Anne
asking if we could meet as
she passed through Las Cruces
with her husband (and dog).
Are you kidding...Absolutely!

I have followed Anne for a few years.
I love her blog and work. She paints
with a wonderful abstract vision,
and writes amazingly well
about her process,
including personal ruminations
which are always interesting.

See for your self
 ANNE

Look what Anne painted while in Las Cruces.
A White Winged Dove.

Thank you, dear Anne, for taking the time to visit
and for making it such an interesting
and stimulating time. I loved every moment.
Hope you come again.

    1. You are welcome, dear Hilda. Happy you see what I enjoy in Anne's work.
I cannot wrap my mind round the way you can go from painting ballet slippers to a magnificent horse. Amazing!

    1. Certainly a real highlight in mine, Anne. You are fun and really good at talking art! Loved it. Thanks for sharing some of your ideas for teaching. Your students are very fortunate.
Your new painting done on the border is so typical of the colors in Nogales. Wishing the three of you safe travels.

  6. What a great picture! Anne looks so very nice, and Cooper is completely captivating. Sounds as if you two had a ball, and Anne's painting is delightful. Plus, whenever she looks at it, she'll remember her happy time with you.

  7. A delightful post! How nice to be able to meet in person someone with whom you've already formed a bond via blogging! I can feel the abstract leanings in Anne's work and like how she applies it to many subjects. Congrats to both of you for connecting!

    1. Happy you enjoyed it, Carol. I certainly feel a bond with you after all this time. There is something special isn't there, about some of the relationships formed through blogging? Admiration for the art is the start but then after time the essence of the person emerges. A very rewarding part of my life.
Hope your recovery continues in the best possible way.

    1. You are so courageous, Jennifer. Fighting MS and still producing no matter a bad or good day. Shame you are in another country or I would sure love to visit you.

  11. It is always fun to meet a friend from the internet. How great that she stopped to visit.

I know you were MIA for a while. I did do one alcohol ink on yupo (Feb 7 post). I think it is easier to do the alcohol inks on yupo than to do watercolors. There is more control because the alcohol inks actually dry. The watercolors just sit there and you wait. lol I need to do more of them.

    1. You should know - you had Wendy from Australia not only visit but paint with you and the Urban Sketchers.http://wendybarrettpainting.blogspot.com/2016/05/sketching-in-times-square.html
I find less control with the inks because of the fast drying time. Blending is difficult. Good for you for finding an easier way. Experimenting is what it is all about.

    1. I went for years without social media thinking blogging was something different, but the friendships formed have been a connective source of pleasure for me.
I remember having pen-pals when I was younger and it is so similar.
Love the dried hydrangeas with snow on them. .
