another New Mexico Gate.
They somehow reach right into my heart
and grab it.
I truly get an emotional response
of pleasure when I see one.
I like to paint beautiful things.
No room for angst in my painting world.
How about you - do you feel the same?
I am pretty sure the answer is yes
from what I see you all do.
How great that you can continue to produce beauty every day, and apply your creative spirit to making the world a better place. Bravo, Julie.
ReplyDeleteBlushing...thank YOU David.
DeleteI think your blog is amazing and the quality of the photographs and writing are beyond anything else I have seen out there.
I love this! Just beautiful
ReplyDeleteHello Kathleen and thank you. I clicked on your link here and it took me to your old website and then I clicked another link and it took me to a new page where your last blog is 2018. Are you on Instagram?
DeleteI agree, Julie. Painting beautiful things --often everyday things -- is a worthwhile goal. This charming gate is indeed one such subject, and your painting captures all its delights. I especially admire your depiction of the path of light across the wall, the gate, and the foliage...masterfully done!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would be one who feels the same because all I have ever seen is beauty and nature. There is enough dark stuff around without adding to it. Thanks for the wonderful comment.
DeleteDear Julie you certainly know how to paint beautiful things. I love your blue gates and never tire of seeing them. Would like to open one and see what is beyond. Hugs!

In you case I can understand dark Jennifer. Not easy living with what you have and you do a hell of a job getting on with LIFE! my hats off to you.
Deletereally not much else you can do though, life is too short to just give up (saying that, I can understand why people feel differently)
DeleteHi Julie, you take the ordinary and turn it into something so mystical and beautiful. You inspire me to stop and really look and to really see what is around me. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely comment. Thank you Joan. I was happy to see your red teapot paintings. I love them.
DeleteSo sorry I am late in responding, Julie, but I sure am enjoying your painting! I noticed right away the fascinating way you showed the light on the wall and gate. It gives it such depth. This peaceful scene looks like the kind of place everyone would love to visit and stay!
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate your always thoughtful comment, Carol. You are the best!
DeleteBeautiful piece Julie!!! I LOVE The light on that amazing blue door .....a definite favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilda. Hope the weather is getting better for you. Seems to have been a rainy spring.
DeleteThis painting makes me want to go through the gate and see what's on the other side. Beautiful shadow patterns Julie.
ReplyDeleteYes...makes me want to too. I can peep over the wall but lots of trees pretty much hide the house. Hope you are doing well and maybe getting some painting done????
The colors and the light are so soothing! It is good to be home and able to visit blogs and comment again. The iPad really restricts me. lol
