Red, Yellow, Green and Blue

Red, Yellow, Green and Blue

6x6in oil on canvas panel   $100. SOLD

After the quiet and lovely harmony of yesterday's piece
I come roaring back into color.
This is a new teapot and it has polka dots on it, but I omitted them
in the quest for sanity!

Artist Note.

This painting was started
from a demo piece of
white and pink roses.
This is the initial block in.
I was showing an artist
how to start, but this was
their set-up and
should be the only
one.
I started the teapot  right where the vase was and
as I liked the abstract design on the background
I left some of it in.
For the foreground I  brought the background color
back in by using the yellow mug but it still didn't ping
my heartstrings... so I added the two blue
plastic spoons. Why? Because I wanted some
fun time with color!
Is this bright or WHAT!
I may have to tone down
those spoons, but for now I like them..

    1. Thank you so much. I am thinking of you as I watch the leaves start to turn. You had this quote on your blog from John Burroughs,
" How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days"
Substitute " mother" for leaves. She was a fine example

  2. Yep, those blue spoons pop! I think this is beautiful and what a grand piece to hang in a red kitchen. Glad you left the polka dots off the teapot; I think my eyes would have gone wonky with the cup and the pot with spots. This is perfect as is, Julie!

  5. Almost every day,you tell me, a different story!
The colors and the objects tell, situated in time and / or places.
The colors tell moods. Who has just left the table? Who is waiting? A sense of great joy comes today from the composition up to me! Thanks dear Julie, your Art is a joy to watch!

    1. You are right - a different story. It is what I love about the blog. I can always be honest and paint what moves me.
I do not know if you realize what it means to hear your insightful comments. You really take the time to "look" at the paintings. I do appreciate your encouragement, dear Rita.

    1. Well - you have seen a few of them for sure. Mine always are red and your usually are blue. e should trade off sometime!
A great and most generous idea to donate to the breast cancer research, the proceeds of your "pink" painting.

  7. Color sings and this one sings. I can see why you left the background more abstract. It holds the energy of all that goes on in the background. I love it.

    1. Thank you Helen. This whole painting was a response to the background as I loved the abstract feel and the colors spoke to me too. Then I saw the teapot and bought it.
      My taste is so eclectic.
