The Rose Bouquet
The Rose Bouquet
7x5in oil on canvas panel $100. SOLD
A very impressionistic painting today.
Painted from a set up in the studio.
Thinking of all the devastation from
Hurricane Sandy and wondering how Mother Nature
can produce such beauty as this, and yet have the
destructive power to simply crush it all.
Sending prayers to all those who are suffering.
One feels so helpless.
If anyone buys this please know I will donate all the
money to the Salvation Army Sandy Hurricane Fund.

Warm, cool, warm, cool. Love the roses and the mood. The darks dance around the page. The colors sing. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Helen. It was fun to paint because of the colors.
DeleteI notice you enjoy color too.
So beautiful, Julie. Wish I had the extra $100 but do hope that this goes quickly. I know the Salvation Army will do wonders with the donation.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think they all will need the money but Red Cross gets the bulk of it so I like to support the Salvation Army. I had a relative who went into it and I was amazed at how much and what they do in a quiet, efficient and unassuming manner. At hardly any pay! I am very happy it sold to a lovely person who wanted to help.
DeleteA beautiful painting, Julie! And it's going for a great cause. The power and reach of Sandy was frightening.
ReplyDeleteSandy sure made an impression on ME! Some of the si-fi movies I have seen advertised could have been true.
DeleteGlad you like the painting- thank you.
Hows the dragonfly piece coming along?
I admire and am inspired by your work. Although I see from comments that a number of online acquaintances have followed for awhile, I discovered it only recently. Kudos for your impressive productivity and your journey and mastery of the looser approach--just beautiful.
ReplyDeletebeautiful painting!
ReplyDeleteI like that you went even more expressive than usual. It got such lovely energy, and you know I like energy.
ReplyDeleteSuch a positive thought and energy associated with these roses Julie, I am sure it will bring peace and positive times to the person who bought it with an intention to help.
ReplyDeleteYour paintings are beautiful and inspiring! So glad I found your blog. I'll be sure to check back in frequently!
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking about the dragonfly painting. It's on hold for the time being...in fact, I'm not sure when it might take flight. Lol. Your comments were very useful...Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how many paintings you've painted since my last visit! wow! Such a beauty this one....!
