Another Marionette
Wooden Marionette Horse
8x6in oil on canvas panel 125.
Day 19 in the 30 in 30 Days Challenge
My personal goal for this challenge - to paint only
what I have never painted or thought of painting before.
Remember Puppet Pete from earlier this month?
This wooden horse was bought from the same man.
You will believe me of course when I tell you that this
horse also has a name... Trouble! I kid you not.
He ended up sticking it on a post because it never worked
correctly. I tell you, this guy was a real kick.

The stories with these paintings are priceless! Love that you have painted Trouble and he looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteJulie, You have some really interesting treasures to paint. The horse is wonderful! I love the lush background color behind the light colors in the horse.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you did this one too. I cant wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteLove the fun you are still having with your particular challenge. Mr. Trouble is great and I must say I agree with Maria. That background is beyond lush. There is something going on there. Very nice painting Julie.
ReplyDeleteA fun toy painting, and the story that goes with it puts a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteThis painting, that of puppet Pete and that charming bird, really belong as a set. They have that touch of Victoriana about them, that shout out 'future family heirlooms'.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of the Nano thingy where you must write a novel in a month without stopping to edit ... you invent so many plots along the way. Similarly, 30/30 has produced this charming collection of 3 wonderful puppets. Totally brilliant!
I love the subtle complexity of the background, which provides a perfect backdrop to this great horse marionette! Fantastic work, Julie!
ReplyDeleteI really like the way he is integrated into the background, he looks so much a "part of", not separate.
ReplyDeletetrouble is a beauty!
ReplyDeleteDear Julie - your fracturing technique looks beautiful on Pete...am so enjoying seeing your daily paintings...loved the mints and the orange chair. Thank you as always for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLOVE him, Julie! I love how the dark background brings this horse up front!! nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI love the puppets you've been painting, what great subject matter!
