ReplyDeleteHave a GOOD Holiday!
YOu are so right, Sue. I did relate with great pleasure to seeing the waterlilies;.
DeleteHard not to do them like Monet.
Your paintings for the challenge amaze me with their beautiful colors and complexity. Do you sleep!
Everywhere that you look, you've put just the right stroke and color! This could have been just a static pond too but I see lots of lovely movement and flow. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right for sure! The light makes such a big difference to everything:)
Thanks so much, Libby.
DeleteYour post on your work process was fascinating. I see a big spurt ahead. When any of us artists feel dissatisfaction with our work when it used to excite us, usually means a change is ahead. I will be happily anticipating as I follow your blog.
It both wakes things up and then diffuses them. Kind of confusing but that is my impression. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Helen. Not confusing to me at all.
DeleteLOVE your new shed painting. best one yet!
Love the brushwork on this one Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks KIm. How neat you have a waterlily on your post too. The shadows in the petals are so beautiful.
Deletegreat brushwork, especially the strokes going in flowing water movement :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it - thanks.
DeleteGood to see your scar looking vastly improved. Obviously no way they can keep a good artist down!
Beautifully done! Can't imagine any better format (square) than what you've chosen here!
ReplyDeleteNice thing to say - thanks Carol.
DeleteHope you enjoy the holiday.
I love waterlilies and yours are beautiful Julie! So delicate...the composition is great too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen - I enjoyed going through your blog and saw your gorgeous waterlilies. Your post on the art influences was great too.
Deletethe rooster is a stunner!
This really made me smile. Lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteNice - nice to smile.
DeleteYour drawings are really neat. I bet you get a good grade.
This lily pond is absolutely beautiful Julie! We needed to buy food today for our koi's and I thought of your last painting and how amazing you paint them! I took so many photos of the koi's they have ....some so beautiful....one was $6500. ...imagine!!?
ReplyDeleteI hope you paint more....!
YOU have your own Koi pond? How lucky is that! I am going to paint some more because I am so enamored with them. My beta fish does the same thing for me. It is like a mediation watching fish swim.
DeleteI blinked at the price tag for one special Koi. What was so special I wonder. Was it huge?
Julie, it was very big and the colors were brilliant...the name of the fish was a Showa! When you sit in front of a pond it is SO relaxing...just listening to the sound of the small waterfall we have for them is therapeutic..
DeleteThis is gorgeous Julie! I love those salmon colours next to the pale blues and all the luscious brush strokes! Beautiful! Love the previous one with the Koi too! It reminds me that I took some photos of a glorious pond of Koi in Singapore in the hope of painting from it sometime down the track. They are such pretty fish.
