Alstroemerias in Blue Rose Vase
8x6in oil on canvas panel $125. SOLD
I painted this at a friend's house. As soon as I see a blue and
white vase it just tugs at me to paint it.
Artist Note.
Hope everyone has enjoyed the summer as much as I have.
It was fun visiting friends and family - still painting,
but in a more relaxed, and sometimes experimental, way.
What follows is a little bit of bragging...
How exciting to get the calls and emails
about my art being in the
Utrecht fall catalog - frame section.
Their designer apparently found my blog
a couple of months back
and they asked for permission to use seven
of my images. They picked one of my fall landscapes
to go on the cover, but, darn it - I could not
get it to them on time. Here it is.
I am impressed with their color reproductions
as catalog paper is not the easiest to get right.
Nice people, good products. I am grateful.
Congratulations, Julie !
ReplyDeleteThanks Martine - love your hearts!
DeleteAny vase, any flowers turn in to a masterpiece from your magical hand! Congrats on the selection!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful comment, and from a beautiful person, too. Thanks Padmaja.
DeleteYour three ocean paintings are pretty awesome.
Congratulations again, Julie....such exciting news and this painting is outstanding..
ReplyDeleteI always love your blue and white vases in paintings!!
You are always so nice Hilda. Thanks.
DeleteI think I like the blue and white pottery because I was raised with different pieces of it - like the Blue Onion and Blue Willow china, around me, but maybe it reminds me of the first proper painting I ever did. I remember the feeling of awe that I could make something out of thin air - like magic.
Very wonderful !!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Julie and happy weekend !!!
Thank YOU.
DeleteWindmill and blue and white - love your latest painting.
Congratulations Julie, great news.
ReplyDeleteta ever so!
DeleteLove your painting of the pond, Pat. Wonderful reflections.
So visually stunning, Julie! But then that comes as no surprise to me! And how proud of you I am! Congratulations on the catalog asking for permission to use your work!!
ReplyDeleteThat means a lot Sherry - bless you.
DeleteSorry you are in a dry period - that's a bummer!
How exciting for you Julie! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see your new paintings again. Hope you had a great summer.
It is a nice feeling even though it is only a catalog - thanks Carol.
DeleteCongratulations yourself on a successful commission. That is one beautiful tree!
That is quite a coup! If you get the catalog yourself maybe you can show a pic on your blog? Very fun:)
ReplyDeleteYou know I love your blue and white vases!
Glad you are having a relaxing summer:)
Summer has been fun so far, Libby.
DeleteI see you have been getting out to your favorite lake and doing more wonderful rocks...AND doing some nifty thinking about different colors.
That landscape is simply stunning! And please never resist the urge to paint those vases. These paintings have your signature style, and I am drawn to them like a moth to the light! I'm not at all surprised that Utecht found you-- congratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteAlways gracious - thank you Ann.
DeleteCongratulations on one of your paintings being picked for such a prestigious show.
Wow!...Congratulations, you cover girl, you!!! :) That is well deserved.
ReplyDeleteLove this newest painting!
LOL - thanks Dean. Fun comment.
DeleteYour new cat and mouse painting has a humorous side to it, too. Loved it.
Brag away. You should be proud...and so well deserved. Glad to see you posting. I know we all missed you. Lovely painting.
ReplyDeletePleased you like it, Helen. I have some favorite themes to get back into the rhythm of regular painting. It is not like riding a bike for me. I have to wade through some real pain of incompetence to get back to the flow of what the tools and materials can do.
DeleteI have enjoyed your barn series. Of course I like the colorful one best.
Lovely painting, Julie. The arrangement is compelling and those beautiful colors are so pleasing. Congratulations to you on being included in the catalog. Brag all you want. I'd shout myself hoarse if it were me. I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me happy is reading all these lovely comments from other wonderful artists. We all know it is the luck of the draw getting picked and it is not like getting in or winning a prize in an important show, but it is a good form of publicity and my stats are really hot at the moment.
DeleteThanks for being happy for me.
Your yellow rose is a winner and the fact it was such a special gift makes it more precious. I am a sucker for those heartwarming stories.
Congratulations, well deserved.
ReplyDeleteNice - thanks, Blanche. Your new landscape has beautiful colors.
DeleteCongratulations!! Got my catalogue last week and was so happy for you when I saw all of your paintings!! Woo hoo!
