A Thank You Bird

Watching

6x6in  watercolor on paper
Gift

What do I paint for someone who loves realism?
Why, something I love to paint, of course,
but with more detail than usual.
A month or so ago
a friend's husband went WAY out of his way
when I was experiencing a rather painful
situation, and he donned a Knight's
attire and rode to my rescue.
Bless you, Wiley, and thank you.

Artist Note.
My hijacked email account was apparently
one which has been around
a while. It made me very upset and hope
everyone changed their password
IF
they opened it.
Thank you to those of you who quickly
let me know about how to deal with it.
It was my first experience with one.

A friend expressed the desire to
super glue together
the fingers of the hacker.
Loved that thought!

  3. Your friend is so fortunate! This is beautiful!

I would be happy to super glue your villain but maybe a hot glue gun might match the pain better...I am not usually mean spirited but these people are thieves who make life miserable! Ugh!

  4. They are criminals: thieves and fraudsters. The world is full of them. Don't let the situation distress you, Julie, they are not worth the effort

I just love the bird (splendid gift) and the Thanksgiving Pitcher is absolutly stunning

  5. Glad you reminded me to change password, Julie. I hadn't even thought about that. This painting is so lovely and I am so thankful that we have friends in this life that are our knights in shining armor. We all need that occasionally. I hope I've been able to be that for someone at some point myself.

  6. What a beautiful (and thoughtful) gift. I looked closely and love the little bits of white that can be seen.

Hackers are pretty bad. Not sure what that mentality is all about but glad that you got your email straightened out.

    1. Hi Libby, thanks for the supportive words on the hijack. I was told there was a difference between the level of hacker and a hijacked email. Very unpleasant experience.
You had a good month... continuing painting with your exploration of the palette knife.

  7. This is a super sweet gift. I love the grays--always loved the grays. Muted colors seem more sophisticated to me, I don't know why. Nature painting is a challenge. It's got to be right. You need a great job that's not easy. The recipient will be thrilled.

    1. I, too, think the taupes and grays provide a restful place to rest the eyes , BUT I also think brighter colors remind me of the tropical playgrounds of the mind. Growing up I never saw bright colors unless on vacation. An association which also makes me happy.
Your beautiful drawing of the pets show more of your amazing versatility.

Your still life painting is lovely but your words on LOVE provided a real heartfelt response.

  10. Oh Julie - I love your realism - this is awesome and I know your friend is going to love this painting. Don't feel bad friend - I had the same thing happen to me about six weeks ago. Wish these folks would find something good to do for someone instead of causing problems for others. Take care and have a blessed day.

  15. I bet your friend was thrilled with this painting Julie! I spotted a bird's nest on the ground the other day and immediately thought of you. I doubt it would get through customs if I tried to send it to you, so I will photograph it for you - gum leaves and all!
