Pansies and Purple
6x8in oil on canvas SOLD
The colder weather means the pansies
can now be planted.
My friend Sharon has a lovely new
area of them, bringing a bit of sunshine
warmth to a cold day.
Artist Note.
I am posting an old painting at top.
One I really like.
I am going to try one in watercolor
and use it as a reference.

ReplyDeleteYour painting is so SWEET and refined!
Perky, pretty pansies are perfect for this time of year! I'll be curious to see what you do with those photos, whether you feather individual flowers, or a cluster like the other painting! I know it's going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThe rich colors and incredible texture is amazing in this painting, Julie!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such a beautiful piece!!!
I am trying to remember this one. It is so delicate and beautiful. The blues and purples just seem to dance together in unison. Even Pansies would not survive our weather right now. We have so much snow and it's been below freezing.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your watercolor. I was looking at my watercolor I did at your house last August and just missing you!

ReplyDeleteSpring and autumh are the time of these beautiful pansies. Flowers that seem to have a face and an expression as humans and that they can in a small space to give so much beauty as in your still life, along with the sparkling of the porcelain blue-purple.
