Cabbage

Cabbage

6x8in oil on canvas panel $125  SOLD

A fairly abstract view of a cabbage.
The color and main leaf detail are what says cabbage.
I cannot remember painting a cabbage before and
was surprised I wanted to paint it...the dreaded green!
It is going into the soup right after this.

Artist Note.

I thought I would join the couple of hundred (plus) artists
and do the 30 in 30 Challenge

Click for more information on this challenge from Leslie Saeta
I want it to be fun like she wants it to be so on some
of my very busy days I may do only a vignette, a sketch or
a tiny, tiny painting...
but am going to try and do completely different things than
I usually do. Starting with a cabbage!

Painting a cabbage has never appealed to me before, but usually I see them colorless with their outer leaves torn off.
Tjis one was a beauty and I enjoyed painting it a lot.
      Thanks so much Rita.

  13. Ok, there is one in my refrigerator. Should it stay there? Not sure but I do know first I will complete the rose challenge I gave myself for the 30 day challenge. How much fun...we will meet there and share with lots of artists. Your darks hold this painting together and what is not to love about greens with a little frosting of purple?

  19. Love your cabbage Julie! It's interesting to connect with Roger's blog through you. I should do a comparison painting like he did, progress in painting is sometimes hard to see as it developes over time. I'll see you on the painting challenge although I hop on a plane tomorrow....haven't mastered posting remotely -yet!
