Scurrying Clouds

Scurrying Clouds, NM
6x8in oil on canvas panel $125. SOLD

If you like lots of green trees then
this is not the view for you.
Personally, I find I love
the long view...
where trees do not block the view.

Artist Note.
I used an angle
brush to form my basic shapes
of color
moving into palette knife work
to add texture for an interesting
surface.

  1. Love the long view. My favorite part.......the mountains. They are so fluid and graceful. Fun painting, Julie.

    Gros bisous ♡

  6. Julie - what a lovely painting of a gorgeous view. Where I live we don't have such open places. So wonderful to visit you and see the beauty that is where you call home. Hope you are having a beautiful day. Hugs!

  8. I always kind of inhale sharply when I see clouds from New Mexico. They truly are unique to the area and so delightful. The distant mountains in this painting are gorgeous in color and texture!!

  9. Dessert isn't for me, but clouds are always an eye catcher. This is nice relaxing painting after all those Lilies.

  15. A sky to get airborne into ... I love sky scenes in general, and this one in particular.

Will try a palette-knife one day ...so fat I've worked out that the paint goes on the hairy end of the brush, which is a start!
