  1. Obviously, Julie, if you are painting birds, this will be the period of your greatest success!

  3. Hi Joan...thanks. It is what I love the most. Tried the same things in acrylics and not as rewarding. LOVE your take-out containers!

    1. Thanks, Julie. They were a fun subject. I always love seeing paintings of birds. I get jealous because my vision isn't good enough to see much of the detail on the birds...and I never have my camera/phone handy to get a photo.

    2. I agree...you need a photo. They are the only thing I paint from photos but I seem to only paint the birds I have actually seen myself. The nests I have a collection of. Fascinating things.

  4. Loving these birds, Julie. Beautiful colors and texture.. I'm becoming a bird watcher lately.. I'm seeing more and more birds that look like they came from someone's home and not wild birds... rich colors and very vocal...lol I hope to see more of these beautiful bird paintings from you.

    1. I understand just what you mean Hilda. It is amazing how many exotic looking birds there are out there. Your painting of the lavender farm made me take a rest to enjoy remembering the last time I was looking at a field of it.

  5. How gratifying to "hear" the happiness in your words, and this jewel of a little bluebird is delightfully apt! Love it, Julie!

  7. I love the bluebird, Julie, as I love ALL of your birds. Isn't it wonderful to have certain subjects that we enjoy painting at any time? It is always a joy to paint our favorite subjects and plan the composition, palette and other details of the painting.
