White Raven

White Raven
8"x8" Raymar square panel $200.
Purchase HERE

Artist Note.
As we are not allowed to copy any image
off the internet, I took a photo of the
White Ravens
from a video when it was playing.
I am sure you understand that
it was not crystal sharp so
this painting was difficult to do.
I abstracted the background and that was fun.
Pleased I managed to get
something I like.

Still experimenting with the
different fracturing techniques
and that keeps me from
stabbing myself with my knife when I
want to pack it all in!

  1. It is interesting that you mention fracturing, Julie. Miriam has been experimenting with fracturing techniques in her quilting, and some of the results are quite stunning - and very interesting,

  2. its so pretty :) it can be such a PITA to get ref images of things when we are not close enough to the object to tale the photos in person

  3. WOW...this is beautifully painted Julie. I took one photo as a reference on television but like you said it wasn't easy since they are moving but I liked the way it came out. I believe it was a man and his guitar.. it wasn't clear but sometimes that works even better ..
I love the subtle colors in your white Raven....hugs to you, my friend...

  4. How very unusual, Julie, to see one of these. Quite imposing. Certainly attention-getting. The background truly compliments the subject and has kind of an other-worldly atmosphere.
