Pansies and Lemons
Pansies and Lemons
6x8in oil on canvas $125 SOLD
I think the color harmony is lovely in this piece.
Mother nature provides extra bliss to artists.
Artist Note.
I enjoyed fracturing this. I have painted this subject before,
but enjoyed it more this way.
I would like to direct you to the blog of Carol Flatt
She is trying the fracturing technique - giving my blog credit
which I think is very generous of her. I liked what she did
a lot, so please take a look at her Friday, June 1st, plums.

I just got back from visiting Carol and she did a wonderful job on her plums...
ReplyDeleteI love your pansies and lemons ...I have pansies in my yard and its amazing how many colors are in this flower... Again, terrific painting, Julie.!!
Glad you liked Carol's plums - so did I. Nice to know you are friends. Thanks for the complement, too.
DeleteIt is a real joy to see this admirable technique.
ReplyDeletehank you Aase. It is also bringing me much joy. Still learning it though.
DeleteI just went through several months of your work and fracturing has made a big difference your art. It's fascinating to see. Your art has come to life with the process. It was wonderful before, but it's extraordinary now. The process has even changed your primary subject matter for the better I think. You really have found your stride. You must feel exhilarated; your work shows it.
ReplyDeleteThank you...you are right regarding my feelings, BUT taste is so subjective. I have lost some collectors and have friends who have told me they do not like it as much as my "regular" paintings. For me it has been invigorating and fully satisfying. I can go back to the early 90's and see some of the fracturing technique in my work but I could not maintain it. Now it is flowing quite naturally most of the time.
DeleteYou are a master of chiaroscuro, Julie. So much light, so beautiful, warm light!
