Young Trees ll
Young Trees ll
6x8in oil on canvas board $125.
This is from a photo I took in the spring of these lovely young trees
growing by a dry stream bed at the base of our local mountains.
When the monsoons start next month, the stream will become alive
with nourishment for them...just in time.

Beautiful landscape, Julie!!! Wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilda. I was trying to push the colors. Fun to try. At the moment everything is pretty brown and I feel the urge to resist it.
DeleteNice surprise. I love how you keep things so structured, so full of details, but it feels so simple.
ReplyDeleteGreat comment and I appreciate it, Roger. thanks.
DeleteI have to second Roger's response. It is structured and still simple; it has a very "mysterious-deep-woods" feeling to it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Libby. I love the work you are doing. Fascinating.
DeleteGlorious colors Julie. The subject is a nice change. I am going to have to try your process. Thank you for pointing out the posts where you explained it. I have some studying to do. It really gives you great results.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the info and hope you have fun trying it.
DeleteThanks for the complement.
I really enjoy how you use your blues and purples. This one has an ethereal fantasy feel, that's tempered perfectly by the sunlight.
ReplyDeleteThanks - as you can see I try to push color but not in a wild way.
DeleteMysterious for sure. Love the purple and the play of light. And also, a nice change of subject matter. Sometimes that is so refreshing.
ReplyDeleteYou always come up with neat comments. Thank you Helen. Yes - this is a change but my heart is in still life.
ReplyDeleteLove the abstract realism in all your work.
