Resting Pear
6x8in oil on canvas panel $125.
The colors turned out to be
a little more subdued than yesterday's
pair of pears.
Artist Note.
I have found one single item can
be painted a lot quicker than
my usual pictorial efforts.
I could get used to this.
...BUT...
I bet I do not do it for too long.
I love getting involved in
the complexity
of filling a small area
so it reads like a larger painting.
I am enjoying seeing many of the
Challenge paintings. (See below for link.)
Far too
many to get through in the
time I have to spare, but I will try my best.
What a beautiful painting - your color palette just knocked my socks off!
ReplyDeleteI love the fracturing in this one, it seems there are more perfect squares than usual? Like a checker board. It's just so pleasing to look at with these pleasant yellows and greens.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this Julie - three words come to mind - luminous, sumptuous and opulent!
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a flying start with the challenge - good luck with it!
Very nice painting. Love your colors and textures.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Julie! It's amazingly vibrant and jewel-like.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! You know I love those little slabs of paint:)
ReplyDeleteWarm and cool. I love to practice with the single objects. This is a nice one with lots to offer. Jewel like.
ReplyDeleteAs I look at your beautiful painting I am perplexed once again as I study and think how on earth did you do that.
ReplyDeleteInspiring challenge using a simple subject and making it exciting.
ReplyDeleteLove this! Your small paintings look so important.
ReplyDeleteLove your pears. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOne little pear....so much beauty! One of those "deceptively simple" subjects...you always elevate them to 'higher status'!! Love this color!
ReplyDeleteLots of interesting beauty and color going on here.
ReplyDeleteI love the light, soft and multicolored look. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year ! Hope to see many of your work in 2015 ! Love texture of this one...this is not only a pear, you give, intensity, vibration...well you give a lot of interrest to this ordinary fruit ...
