anemones
Red Anemones
6x6in oil on canvas $85.
These red flowers are all what I could salvage from the painting the
dog messed up yesterday.
The original was nothing like this.
It had beautiful red, purple and white anemones in a glass vase.

Gorgeous...and they remind me of poppies...and poppies always make me think of the Wizard of Oz...when the Witch says "pop-ays...sleep, now they'll sleep". Oh, and The Wizard of Oz ALWAYS makes me think of Kansas. But I live here so that doesn't really count. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you smiling at my corniness?
Your painting is beautiful like all your others.
You - corny? - Nah!
DeleteI always thought these were poppies when I was a youngster. In England they have Remembrance Day, the equivalent to memorial Day, and everyone would wear a beautiful red poppy. In the foggy days of November, the red glowed brightly. I noticed color way back then.
Great salvage job Julie! This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank Karla. The memory of the other one is still in my mind so I cannot see this one clearly.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour story about the dog was so funny :) I am sure it was not funny to you, but I had a vision of you trying to scrub his face with soap. I have dropped several wet paintings, so I know that feeling of horror to see it upside down in the dirt, but your dog added insult to injury! Hope you both have survived.
I can laugh now. Some of the other stories I received made it better. Love what you did with the palette knife.
DeleteA wonderful painting of one of my favorite flowers, or more correctly another one of my many favorites... really love them all. I can imagine the face of both you and the dog LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane. Looking back, it is funny. Frisbee painting!
DeleteLove what you are doing.
Very nice painting. My favorite part is how the purple plays with the red. And thanks everyone for the dog stories.
ReplyDeleteStill beautiful and interestingly arranged :)
