Doorway Shadow
Doorway Shadow
6x6in oil on canvas panel 85.
This is my entry for the Daily Paintworks Challenge
The Shadow Challenge. We are asked to find a subject with a dramatic shadow
and to make the shadow an important part of the composition.
Artist Note.
This is done from memory of a beautiful row of doorways in Guadalajara, Mexico.
I really enjoy making the shadow transparent by looking at the color changes
on the different surfaces
I am a painter living in Las Cruces, NM. After many years as an illustrator I turned to fine art to develop my own artistic voice. I currently teach talented and enthusiastic artists in oil, acrylic and egg tempera painting. I am also a member of the Artist Guild of Southern New Mexico.

Lovely palette knife--lovely doorway. Great memory.
ReplyDeleteMy illustration background helped form my visual memory. It saved a lot of time. Still cannot remember names though!
