Cherries - Day 26 in the Challenge

Cherries
6x8in oil on canvas board $130. SOLD

Artist Note.
Painted during cherry season,
but it never made it to my blog.

I painted it at a friend's house
from life. I liked her nice shiny
colander better than the cherries.
It was a challenge to paint
the reflections

  4. Tonight I took time to read last post that I had not read. I admire incredible way that you have prepared monoprint and then painting your dog!

See in youtube abundance of material in the oil painting is almost a shock for me ... I live in a watercolor world without thickness and luckily for my health problems, without odor. So I really love to follow what you do and how to explain it ... it's always an incentive to dare and go ahead relying on creativity and sudden-action that reveal surprises and unexpected realizations. This moment of creativity, reaction to what comes up, to create other new creations, is the golden time for those who love the painting.
A true joy in life available everyday, without going far from home. ... Thanks for sharing your world and your beautiful Art.

    1. Seeing you have a cherry orchard of your own I am not surprised you like the cherries. Maybe these were from your wonderful ranch. Nothing beats your fabulous cherry pie. You should paint one of those. or I will, in exchange....

I just love the brilliant color setting off those very rich cherries...and the composition which leads me around the painting....to then notice the pleasant little surprises of reflected color in the colander! Ahhhh- just wonderful!
