Love them Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gina. I know you are an animal lover because your portraits of them are marvelous.
Deletelove these! magnificent! they look like the real thing with special things added!!
ReplyDeleteThank you lots, Myra. A chair is a chair right? Thanks why you like them.
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous...especially Whisler's mom and her kitty. How fun. I love that they went to a fund raiser. You are such a giving spirit.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first started painting I copied a lot of masterpieces. I did Van Gogh's Starry Night Over Rhone, a Monet, Klimt's The Kiss and also Mada Primavesi and other's but I can't remember the names. I learned a lot from doing those renderings. A lot, a lot, a lot.
A lot.
At art school they had us copying the masters, but in black and white - UPSIDE DOWN!
ReplyDeleteI bet you learned a "lot" about pattern from doing The Kiss.
Thanks for the visit, Lisa.
That was fun and weird at the same time... lol.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun doing them. I did a whole pile 0f famous paintings with animals. I painted Matisse's goldfish with cats looking at the fish..it was another fun one
DeleteDear Julie,so nice idea to add an animal! Well done...
ReplyDeletethese art works seem to be always been painted with the animals!
I love it!!!
Thanks Rita. it turned out to be good for the fundraiser as most people have a sense of fun. The Matisse one I did with the goldfish, had one of the cats salivating!
DeleteHello Julie:) Great art! They are both very nice and great look a likes:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Renate - congrats on your 10,000 blog visitors.
DeleteFantastic pieces, Julie. I also have one picked out to copy...I think its a wonderful practice. Congratulations for selling them!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them - thank you, Hilda.
DeleteI enjoyed looking at your new piece painted from life.
these are marvelous. Van Gogh could have used the pets. Whistler's mom as cat lady--why not?
ReplyDeleteI have learned from copying many drawings--and a few paintings.
Thanks for the comment, Jean. I am enjoying your i-pad art on your blog.
DeleteLove them both! What a fun creative idea for a great cause!
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you - thanks, Pam.
DeleteI liked your sunflower - beautiful colors!
Oh my gosh! What a great idea! For the last 2 years I have been donating pet portrait commissions to the local SPCA fundraiser. I would like to borrow this idea for the same purpose. Hope that's ok?
ReplyDeleteBy all means use it. Anything to raise money for animal care is important and I appreciate all of us who do it.
DeleteFunny! Very clever, and well done. Wonderful cause.
ReplyDeleteYes, very clever! It's a great cause to support!
ReplyDeleteFamily Systems Theory explains relationships and group behavior in terms of anxiety, connectivity and emotional processes. Cats exemplify "Self-Differentiation" and draw us to them not because they obey us but because they do... sometimes. The reason most people find cats fascinating is because Cat and Cats innately understand the basics of Family Systems Theory and call us all to a higher emotional maturity.
