Two G's.
Garlic and Grapes
8x6in oil on canvas board 100.
Struggled for a couple of hours on a painting and wiped it off, so then I had pressure to finish this one.
Times like this I wonder why I don't paint just one object. Something simple...

It's really frustrating when we have to wipe off a painting we have struggled with for hours, non painters wonder why. Sometimes the 'pressure' makes me free up a little and the result is often worth it. Like this for you. The darks in the grapes could have been an uncomfortable mass of dark, but it simply looks like a bunch of lush grapes! Well done.
ReplyDeleteNicely done Julie, I like how after you wiped off the one, you found another nice composition. Like the shadow colors in your garlic.
ReplyDeleteFailure is only in the eye of the beholder...if you feel you had a learning curve then any frustration you felt must have been well worth it because the "END RESULT" is marvelous! Job well done!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I wipe a painting, I seem to find the inspiration and speed to paint another.
ReplyDeleteThis is a brilliant painting, Julie. You inspire me for sure.
