This painting was painted from a
plein air watercolor sketch I did
earlier this summer.
It is larger than my usual blog size
and I have an agreement with
the wonderful people at the (above) gallery,
Mark and Gail,
that anything larger than 8"x8" goes
through them.
It has turned out to be a win-win
situation for all as their large and beautiful
gallery is only one block
south on Main Street from my tiny,
Daily Painting Gallery.
in the
Artist Guild of Southern New Mexico.

Fabulous Julie and congratulations! I would have loved to see this painting with the frame, I can imagine it though.
ReplyDeletethis Hollyhock painting is gorgeous Julie. That does sound like a great set-up you have going on with your gallery. Nice when everybody's happy. lovely painting
Bravo !
Gros bisous ♡
REALLY STRONG!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful flower painting !!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunningly gorgeous, Julie!!! Love the dimension/depth you've painted here too!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love! So bright and cheerful. Just what I needed first thing in the morning to start my day of right. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteJoyous..LOVE THIS
ReplyDeleteGreat. Love the abstract quality found in the lower third of the painting. Keeps my attention.
ReplyDeletewow- you really have the WOW factor going here:)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and love the texture...Wonderful piece, Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore Hollyhocks! This is such a happy painting; it must have been a pleasure to paint. Hollyhocks and sunflowers are Summer heat.
ReplyDeleteBoth paintings are keepers. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty.
ReplyDeletewonderful brushwork and color in this lively painting.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a happy marriage!
ReplyDeleteThese flowers are beautiful. Hollyhocks are new to me and in person (and in your piece) they are very graceful with lots of life:)
Like you say...a win win. This is beautiful. I once had a bunch of hollyhocks in the back yard. Over time, they have disappeared. I just replanted some new ones and I hope once they mature and bloom that they will be as pretty as your painting.
