What a gorgeous tonal piece! Is Aquarelle graphite a liquid? I get a Native American vibe from this too...
ReplyDeleteHi Sherry - no they are pencils. They turned liquid with water.I like them a lot.
DeleteI can see the Southwestern vibe you mentioned. I, of course, had not seen it. Makes sense it is in my subconscious - living where I do. Neat !
You threw me right off track today with you shopping for Christmas gifts. Yikes!
Always fun to test drive new materials:)
ReplyDeleteTrue - thanks Libby.
DeleteThis is very interesting...a side of Julie I am not all that familiar. I like that you explore different supports and share the results. With my upcoming Christmas trip to Norway where it will be dark and twilight, these are the colors I will be seeing and probably using!
ReplyDeleteThese pencils travel easily so you may want to try them before you leave..
DeleteLove your reflections - you did a wonderful job.
Your work is just lovely. I am enjoying catching up on what you have posted since I was here last. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNice of you to visit again Joan. thank you. I think your boat painting is full of life.
DeleteLovely composition and fun change of pace. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is a change I know. I like it and more importantly - I really enjoyed doing it.
DeleteEnjoying your pears and seeing what you do with the designs.
I missed out on a couple days of your painting challenge, I love this last piece. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeletethanks for the visit Celia. glad you like it. I enjoyed seeing your two studies.
ReplyDeleteJulie, I love your aesthetic. This is superb in each technique.
ReplyDeleteLovely work, Julie! This painting is especially interesting to me because I was thinking of adding a feather recently to a still life I set up. I couldn't find one even though I used to have a bunch. I, who rarely throw anything away, must've discarded them in a rare fit of housekeeping.
