Lemon & Leaves

Lemon and Leaves

8x6in oil on canvas panel   $100. SOLD

DAY 28

On this challenge I have done an assortment of subject matter.
Last January when I did the previous Leslie Saeta Challenge
I chose a theme, and  I found out it was a lot
harder than I thought it would be. This time I was smarter
and decided not to have a theme. It has  allowed me to look
around and pick what I felt like doing each day.
Much better and easier.
Still a lot of pressure though and I questioned my sanity a
couple of times.

  5. I think you deserve a big pat on the back for staying with this challenge. Whenever the word "challenge" comes up in art, I freeze and my mind goes blank.

And this has to be the most perfectly painted lemon I've ever seen!

  9. This is stunning Julie, you have got so much depth into the painting and the colours are beautiful. I just love your style!
I too have stayed away from a theme which I think has made things much easier on the challenge. Only two more days to go now! Good luck with your final two!

  10. You should not question your ability. You seem to be able to tackle any subject & come out with a lovely painting. Enjoying seeing what you will come up with next. Remembering 2 of my favorites, your closet & the NM kitchen sink.

  13. Julie, this painting was on my "list" to do but yes, it was fun to just go with the flow and paint whatever. Love how the lemon pops out of the background. The whole painting works very nicely.

  14. Julie, this is really fab. Sometimes to get our best work, we need to really push to beyond our comfort zone. Love the blue/purple shadows especially!
