Fruit Bowl
Fruit Bowl
6x6in oil on canvas panel SOLD
I missed doing the pansies. The color and shapes were so interesting.
This fruit bowl is one my mother made and holds special meaning for me.
Artist Note:
I tried to be impressionistic with this piece and struggled...wiped off and
did it three more times. Photographed it and saw everything I didn't like
and wiped it all off and started again.
Does this sound familiar to anyone out there?

Julie, I think your struggle is familiar to everyone out there, everyone out there who paints anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis post and your pansies are fabulous!
Oh yes, sounds very familiar :-)) It runs in the family... this fruit bowl is fabulous, wonderful composition.
ReplyDeleteI really like the looseness of this, and how you painted "outside the lines". The textures and impressionistic feeling are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful result from your struggles. This is one of my favorite pieces you have done. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful piece, Julie!!! Yes, I agree with Dana...the struggle is definitely familiar! Since your Mom made this bowl it makes it even more special.
ReplyDeleteAfter your wipe-offs, the end result is lovely and impressionistic. I really liked your pansey series. And because I only just discovered your blog, I toured them all at once.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what we miss in our paintings until we see it in a photo or online!
Wow. I just discovered your work on Daily Paintworks and fell in love! I had to have this one! Love, love, love it! (Note: My wipe-offs and struggles, always end in failure. This painting will be a reminder to me to keep trying!)
